Aidan Montague is a professional engineer by background and a former Chartered Member of Engineers Australia. He began his career as a design engineer in the Mining and Oil & Gas industries. He worked in design offices for companies like Rio Tinto and Fluor, and contracting on-site for Alcoa, Woodside (Offshore Exploration), Pertamina (Indonesia), and others.

After transitioning from engineering, Aidan led sales and marketing teams for some of the world’s most successful technology companies, including Cisco Systems, across Australia, London, Johannesburg, and Singapore. He also headed Sales and Marketing for RESIMAC, Australia’s leading non-bank home lender, consulted for Dubai-based EDE Mining, and served on the board of several ASX-listed companies.

Today Aidan treats conversion the way he once treated structures: as an engineering problem. The result is the conversion brain, an AI system built on conversion-first, real-world-first principles and installed into the business rather than bolted on. The method is set out in his book, Design Before Scale.

Aidan has featured in the media on Sky News Business (Heidi Armstrong) and Radio 2GB, on “Nights” with Steve Price and “Money” with Ross Greenwood.

He writes regularly for managing directors of engineering and technical firms; his articles are collected at LinkedIn.
